Working with candy melts isn't always easy.

Some days things go perfectly, other days there are issues.

I was making these Pete the Cat pops for a birthday party.

Everything was going along great until my last step.

After adding the nose and whiskers, the candy coating developed cracks along the nose line.

UGH!

I was devasted as I did not have time to make more and give a perfect product, but thankfully my client was OK with the slight imperfection in these pops.

She was delighted with how they turned out, despite the flaws.  She even told me they look amazing and better than she pictured they would be.

For that I was delighted and happy that she was understanding with the imperfections.

While I am still not 100% sure why the cracking happened, I have an idea and will make adjustments for the next time.  

Hello Kitty

For my granddaughter's 3rd birthday last June she had a Hello Kitty party.

I got to work making Hello Kitty cake pops.

These were a lot of fun to make and the joy in my graddaughter's eyes was worth every bit of it! 

I made initial tags to attach to each of the pops.

I arranged them all in flower pots with picks the flavor picks.

These were well recieved and enjoyed by all!

Lions

 

 

My grandson celebrated his 1st birthday on Valentine's Day 2012.

He had a Lion King party theme, so I created more than 60 lion heads that turned out fantastic!

I did half in vanilla cake, half in chocolate.

The candy coating was peanut butter Wilton melts with butterscotch chips for the mane, royal icing eyes and mouth paired with an M&M nose.
